Vivo Carnivore ‘Unplugged’

•January 21, 2007 • 1 Comment

Pretty excited about tonight’s unplugged singing, finally got a chance to do something that I’m really passionate about: To sing in a restaurant setting. It’s sort of an audition for me for future advancement if there is any. If everything goes well, I’ll be doing it every Sunday night (:

When you are doing something that you have a passion for, everything just becomes effortless. But then again, memorising song lyrics is not a mean feat and requires much effort to do so.

More updates after tonight.

Pre-marital Sex = Okay?

•January 19, 2007 • Leave a Comment

46 % of youths think it is okay to have sex before marriage.

This is a controversial issue but personally I won’t encouraged people to go for pre-marital sex. It’s just an irresponsible act that affects the female more than the male.

Youths also say that the three things most important to them are family, freedom and health.

56 % say they are not bothered by copyright issues related to downloading movies off the Internet.

55 % of youths feel that life will not be complete if they do not get married and have children.

54 % of youths surveyed think it is okay to use vulgarities when talking to friends.

>50 % want to migrate overseas if given a chance. (Shows that many people can’t stand life in Singapore)

50 % find homosexuality acceptable.

48 % share original content, for example, artwork, stories and videos.

47 % aspire to be an entrepreneur.

46 % of youths are on the Internet for five hours or more a day.

40 % of respondents also blog.

37 % of Singaporean youths say they are not patriotic. (Not very accurate given the no. of PES C and below)

12 % say they don’t go to the cinema as often because they are downloading movies off the internet. (I think this figure should be higher)

‘Expected’ Results…

•January 18, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Juz got back my Maths result yesterday and I got a single digit of 3 out of 50 which is 6%, duhhh! I guess I’m one of the lowest in the class. I think I saw a 2 pointer but well it’s over, didnt really study since it’s a ‘mock’ exam. Shall do better the next time round…

Met up with JY on Mon for lunch. Been a while since I stepped into familiar territory. Wanted to go to Amoy street for lunch but in the end settled for Pastamania. Fortunately there wasnt much people there as compared to if we went Amoy and it’s much more cosy but pricer. Had a little chat ranging from work, studies and relationships. I was pretty surprised that she mentioned a term that’s quite ‘profound’: ‘Comfort zone’. It’s a term that I think not many people would use or quite seldom.

After lunch, went for my interview @ SGX. Nope, not dealing with stocks or shares but customer service at a German MNC. It’s not a job that I wanna do actually and when the interviewer mentioned about regular OT and sometimes going back on weekends, I know I’m not ‘in’ for it. It’s really difficult to find a job that allows you to study part-time but I’m not giving up. Luckily I still got a fair bit of savings that can last me for quite some time but I aint not going to do nothing. I’m looking out for other types of passive income as well but in the meantime, a 9-5 job is still inevitable.

On a sidenote

One of my friend invited me to sing at Carnivore@Vivocity this Sun. I think it’s a good chance for me to get some exposure and maybe kick start my passion in Singing. (:

Am finally back from my 1st ‘low’ key ICT, still feeling very, very tired, only 50% recharged… ):

Reached home yesterday night around 8+ after 2 nights of stay-in, all becos of stupid CO and the lousy out-processing. Had to skip my Wed class as well… Army as usual… I wonder how are we going to win if a war ever breaks out, even the very basic stuffs are already so badly executed, don’t even have to mention what 3G Army or technology. Can you imagine almost 500 person waiting for just 1 person for 2 hr 30 mins just becos he’s in a meeting and he only holds the rank of a Major? Totally ridiculous… no sense of punctually at all. How is someone like him going to command respect from his ‘men’ when he can’t even be on time? The out-processing was also damn pathetic and disorderly. Dunno whether to attribute it to typical human nature or lousy system…

The whole ICT is just not my cup of tea, didnt really enjoy it at all. Plus the incessant rain from Thur till Friday made it worst. Best yet, it was reported in the news that the northern part of Singapore got the brunt of the rain, all 216.7mm of it… what an unlucky time to be out in the field. Did my combat shoot and IPPT during the 4 days but failed my 2.4km run and had to redo a day reshoot… all started becos of one rifle sling…

Forget the bad stuffs and let’s talk about the good stuffs. Gotta know this PC who was also in my shooting detail, a very helpful and moral-booster commander. Another one is the OC that was the overall in-charge. He’s the kind of commander that is a natural born leader whom I believe his men would even be willing to ‘die’ for in war. Although he’s actually quite a ’slack’ commander, his men under him respect him and he meant what he says. Worthy of saluting!

Now for the benefits of going thru ICT, I would say it’s really a good time to get to know and interact with people of all ages esp. for people doing sales or business. I can say I’m the youngest over there and people all around are like late 20s to 40 with families. It’s also a good time to strengthen the bond with your buddies and such. But, I wouldnt wanna attend the next one if possible, it just disrupts my personal life like now…

AquaDom – World’s Largest Cylindrical Aquarium

Located in The Radisson SAS Hotel, Berlin, this should be the largest indoor aquarium in the world. It does resembles the ‘tiny’ one in the basement of Wisma Atria.

The hotel also houses the “HEat,” Berlin’s first “world fusion” restaurant that cooks up interesting creations from Asia and Europe in its show kitchen.

MyBlogLog for 10 Million?

•January 9, 2007 • 1 Comment

According to sources, Yahoo just bought over MyBlogLog for a cool $10 million.

I have been thinking of some similar ideas but the problem right now is getting someone to create the web program. Who knows I might just strike the jackpot and win something real BIG! The days of working will be over then…(:
