A ‘Rainbow’ Start

Saw this rainbow while I was preparing to bathe, really happy to see it on a New Year’s Day (: Not been auspcious or superstitous here but it just bores well for a New Year. It’s actually quite difficult to see rainbow as you need the right weather, to be at the right place and the right time to see it. It usually occurs after a light drizzle and much sunlight and last for only 5-10 mins. The last time I saw it was when I was still in army. As far as I can remember, this should be the 4th time I saw a rainbow but today’s the BEST!

And so 2007 is finally here… Happy New Year to all!

Looking back, I have more downs than ups. esp. towards the last two quarters of 2006. And I shall learn from it to see where I have gone wrong.

Normally people would start off a new year on a high note, making lots of resolutions etc and than tapering off to a low, becoming stagnant… that’s when they’ll look forward to a brand New Year, a fresh new start. It’s human nature I would say. It’s not easy to stay high all the time, you needa constantly do a check on yourself and your resolutions and do the neccessary adjustments. It takes lots of effort and discipline to do it which is why many people fail. Those who manage to achieve it can really look back and enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Well, it’s good to have resolutions but not unrealistic resolutions. Sometimes it’s better to make none than to make unrealistic ones and not meeting them thus demoralizing yourself in the process. I have done it and I know how it feels like. It never felt good. Another mistake is that people tend to make too many resolutions.

For me, I have make a few and I want to be more FOCUS this year on specific areas and doing them well, something I’ve learnt but yet to apply in my life. Guys tend to work better when they are focus while girls are better at multi-tasking. My mistake is that I tend to spread out on too many things and overwhelming myself in the process. The end result is that I become a Jack of all Trades but Master of None, achieving mediocre results.

This is also my so-called year, the year of Boar. I have went thru 2 full cycles of the zodiac which means that I’ll be 24 soon… Kinda stress actually but the older you are, the more matured and wiser you should be. Like the chinese saying: “I eat salt more than you eat rice”. I cant say that I have tonnes of life experience but I have went thru quite a bit, enough to lend some advice to the younger ones.

Come to think of it, I can’t imagine that I’m going 24, rather I feel like I’m still in poly. (:
